2023 ARTWALK & HARTPRIZE CONTEST RECAP:

The 2023 Fall Artwalk was a huge success with nine unique artists featured in eight locations throughout Downtown Hart with their artwork on display.  Host businesses offered snacks and refreshments.  Visitors could meet and greet the artists and view a variety of art mediums including watercolor, acrylic, henna art, caricature drawings, handmade jewelry, and student artwork.  Super Fitness Zumba Dancers performed at Hart Commons and a large crowd gathered to celebrate the 24-foot Tin Man sculpture, new to Hart this year, with a ribbon cutting.  During the ribbon cutting ceremony, Sharon Hallack sang a solo parody of the Wizard of Oz classic "If I only had a Heart", the song that won Hart 3rd place and $10,000  towards the sculpture at the Consumers Energy, Put Your Town on the Map Competition.

Also unveiled during Artwalk was the Hartprize Photo Contest showcasing the top 30 photographs from over 150 submissions.  The photos are on display in Pocket Park and the public is encouraged to stop by and vote for their favorite photograph (instructions in the park).  This exhibit will be on display throughout the month of October.  The winning photographer will be announced October 31st and presented with a $250 cash Harprize.  Follow HEART's Facebook page and website to see the winner!

The Hart Economic & Redevelopment Team would like to thank the artists, businesses, and volunteers who helped make this event possible.  This annual event takes place the first Saturday in October so if you missed it, mark your calendars.  If you're an artist who would like to be featured in 2024, please let us know by applying here.
